I would like to change the content on the home page of one of my sites, basically add LSI terms and optimize for the main keyword.

Should I go ahead or does google consider this as manipulation to get a better ranking? This is a 2 yr site. Since the home page was indexed long time back, how do I get the bots to reindex again? Will a ping do the trick?

  • There is nothing wrong with optimizing is your website is truly about the topic, and even better, helpful. You can ping it, but it shouldn't take more than a couple of weeks. Have you checked the last cache date?

    • My domains are full of articles I write.
      The index page has a general article, and of course,
      with all the links to other articles.

      If you have a niche site, generally speaking any good
      article you write will do.

    If you update your website and create an AdWord campaign for it, the Googlebot will visit it shortly thereafter.
  • if you want to be reindex try ping service to ping your index.that way help me alot
  • Ive also noticed after a site change submitting a new sitemap to google webmaster tools gets google bot going again..
