    The best way to do it is build other sites and web 2.0 properties and link back to your main site that you want to become #1...

    It takes a lot of time and effort and even some hair-pulling every now and then but if you stick to it you will do just fine.

    Taking Jamestame suggestion forward, take a look at an example site (and Supply Chain Management and ERP Notes )that appears on Google's first page (in top 3 or 4 results) for as much as 10 keywords. You can model your site accordingly - Remember one thing - content is king even after modeling
