Hello Warriors,

Alright so i never ran any ads on the content network for google but I recently started dipping my toes into it. I setup a banner ads campaign and tried to use managed placements.

Here's where I run into a wall and can't figure it out.

I put up managed placements fine that are the whole website like a niche site that the whole website is dedicated to my ads topic.

BUT!

There are also many bigger sites that have niche extensions and whatnot like about.com that have my niche as a subcategory or something. Or a bigger site that I don't want to run ads on the whole site just on the pages that have my keywords in them so if its a big general site but doesn't have necessarily a subcategory to it that is niche specific but has pages in it that bring up my keyword how do I put my ads only on those pages???

I CANNOT figure out how to set this up in my account, please help.

Thanks in advance,

Ben

I don't believe you have a choice of "pages" to place your ad--only "websites" you choose to run the ad. If you have never run ads on content network, you have a lot to understand first and only the big time spenders know how to do that.

Rather than shoot for sites that compete with you on content, why not turn off the network and get more directed traffic from those who do a keyword search for your kw? At least those people are looking for your product. In the network, you are just thrown into a large quantity of impressions where few will return a click. Look for more focused traffic, is what I have always heard and adhered to with better results.

It's simple, Ben. Enter the URL of the page(s) you want to target. For example, about.com/subdir

There are a few rules about this but I've done this in the past and it generally works.
