How is submitting my blog content to enzine not duplicate content, or is it?

Are you talking about submitting an exact copy of every post/article or piece of content from your blog to EzineArticles?

If so that's a bad idea. Because EzineArticles has such a high trust/authority in Googles eyes, it's likely that the copy of your content on EzineArticles would outrank your own copy of the content on your domain - even if yours is original and has more backlinks (in some cases).

If you really wish to reuse the content on your website and submit it to EzineArticles, I would at least do a pretty thorough rewrite / spin of the content to make it indistinguishable to Google. Also perhaps target different slightly keywords in the EZA version of your content so the article isn't competing. Unless your goal is to get multiple listings for the same keywords in the SERPS, in which case feel free to use the same keywords in both versions of the content.

Don't be afraid of a duplicatet content penalty because ... there is no ... woah
What can happen is what DireStraits wrote, that google thinks the article on ezine is the original. To avoid this problem it should be enough to post the article on your site first, wait a while and post it to ezine. Google is pretty clever in finding out whats the original source of content.

Hmmm... wont EzineArticles dump your account for this? I always thought they would only accept original unpublished articles. If that would work, it would certainly be cool to send in a few of the inner pages as long as I didn't lose anything from it.

When you post that content to your blog just spin that article and then publish it to Ezine article site.

I put the articles on my site first, wait a bit and then send the exact same article to EZA, then wait a bit, and then send the same article to the next ezine, etc.

There is no duplicate content penalty for doing this. Duplicate content means that your website has one page of text and that same text is repeated on your website over and over and over. So, if you write an article called "blue widgets are great" and then put it, unchanged, on 10 pages of your website you would have duplicate content. If you took the same article and sent it to EZA, the copy on EZA would not be duplicate content.

Sending the same article from your blog to EZA and a dozen other publications is no different than the New York Times syndicating a columnist or news article. Does anyone seriously think that a syndicated news story is going to be spun everytime it is picked up and reprinted?

Some folks here have mentioned the concern about the EZA page ranking above their own blog. My take on it is this: if my article on EZA ranks higher than my blog, then I am not promoting or operating my blog correctly.

I also think that I would rather have at least some traffic generated from EZA than no traffic at all. So if my blog is at 165 and the EZA article is at 5, I can expect at least a trickle of traffic to come from that article: traffic that might otherwise not find me. Putting out these articles is like casting a net in the sea trying to catch a fish. The bigger the net, the greater the chance of getting your dinner.

And don't worry about being able to out serp your article. So what if you don't at first? Just keep at it and your blog will soon rank higher than the article.

From my experience EZA have no problem publishing content that you've already published on your blog, especially if it's the blog or site in your Resource box. But whenever I've tried to publish my own content from another blog of mine they've nearly always flagged it. More often than not I've ended up binning the article or completely rewriting it.

You shouldn´t have a problem publishing the same article on your blog and Ezine Articles. Still, if you want to be safe you could rewrite it or spin it using a tool like The Best Spinner.

Well EZA does run a program to check for the content elsewhere on the web. To me, I use EZA and other article directories for backlinks more then direct traffic so it isn't as big of an issue in my niche....that being said I know they generally allow you to publish content attached to your resource box on EZA.

    Like most human directories, YMMV!

I think there's no problem submitting a post of your blog, I mean the site that wrote on your profile. But If It's not that one Ez won't accept at most case.

You should submit "YOUR" content that you already posted on your blog to article directories. Do not listen to that myth about duplicate content penalty... Take them right from your blog and post if you choose to do so, it's "YOUR" content.

You can change or spin if you like but you do not have to do so ....

EZA has no control over "YOUR" content, those that post about EZA will dump you and all this trash... No they will not. Besides there are way more many places to use "YOUR" content than EZA..
