Seperate adsense reporting by domain for xfactor/ clickbump sites

hi there,

just wondering what everyone's doing to separate reporting for their niche domains?

Separating by channel is an option but apparently that's limited to 200 and it seems time-consuming to set-up an individual ads for each domain. If I add more channels for an ad, will it still report for each domain seperately... or show up under both channels?

Is linking the adsense account to google analytics the best way forward? It seems you have lots and lots of reporting that way with individual pages, refers, etc... and obviously by domain. This way you could have one ad for all sites, basically and let google analytics seperate all the reporting.

Am I on the right track or is there a better way to report by domain??

    Separation by domain is the easiest way to do things. That's how I do it.

    I've looked into this a little further...

    Ok I see what you mean, there are the URL channels. So once setup there's no need to setup custom channels and also no need to setup individual ads, which will save a lot of time. It's limited to 200, but that'll last for a little while, I suppose

    While we're at it, is anyone using google analytics in combination with ad sense reporting? Is it helpful... or does google definitely not need to know everything?

    I do not use google for anything but adsense. I dont use their analytics on sites that run adsense. I know that this really doesn't matter because they can track everything through your publisher id anyway but for some strange reason it just makes me feel safe:rolleyes: Weird I know, I guess I just don't want them to feel like I am too dependent on them for everything.

    If you have access to the new AdSense interface, there's an option to break down ad performance by domain. That's what I do, although I also use channels to facilitate split testing.

    I use the URL Channels to track impressions and of course clicks. I don't use any other analytics, only because its just too much time to install the code onto each site when I'm really just trying to bang out as many as possible.

    Having said that, if you do get up to the 200 barrier, I'd just removing the low earners and continue to cycle them out until you have ones that are doing at least $1 a day (or more) in the 200 list. Alternatively...just get another adsense account

    Google's TOS don't allow you to have more than 1 AdSense account, unless you have one in your personal name and one in your business name.

      I use URL channels and its super easy to manage things that way.

      David is correct about the the max Adsense accounts, and this is a perfectly legit way to double your URL channel count if you have > 200 adsense sites/channels.

        I'm using the new Adsense interface and had to do a bit of reading to figure this out, but if I"m on the same page as Clickbump using URL channels, this is what I did.

        Under the "Performance" tab, I chose "URL Channels". Then I clicked "Add URLs to track" toward the bottom of the window and added one site "XXX.com" and then clicked "Save Report". I did this with 3 domains so far and they show up under "Saved Reports". No data yet but I'll keep an eye on it.

        BTW, when adding URLs the window says you can add up to 500, a significant increase from 200. You can also add all your URLs at once and then create separate reports for each.

        If what I've done is incorrect, please let me know so I can fix it.

          For anyone not using channels, you should.
          Tracking is key to optimizing your sites to make the most money possible.
          Don't be afraid to use custom channels, they are easy to setup and worth the stats.
          Testing different layouts can have a HUGE impact on your earnings.

    I just use channels, two channels per site.

    It's important that you track so you know what site is making money and what effect there is if you make changes in your adsense layout. For example, just by changing the size of my adsense unit it massively increased the CTR, I wouldn't be able to compare if I didn't use channels.

    Every month I analyze every sites performance so I know if I should invest more time into a particular site or if I should just leave it alone and move on.
