Share an AdSense account? like a sub account...

Is it possible to share an adsense account? I'm trying to figure out if there's room at the table for new content publishers, and so far, it's a pain in the butt to get approved.
AdSense courses make no mention of the approval 'problem'. They all seem to conveniently not mention that you may not be able to ever have the multiple sites they seem to espouse.
Any advice?
