Power of Keyword Rich Domains (Sharing an example of mine!)

Hi Warriors,

I'm not sure if you guys are tapping on the power of keyword rich domains.

It's just that they work really well and I wanted to share with you 1 particular example (without revealing the actual domain) as I'm sure it will help some of you out.

It's like this ...

I've got a particular domain made up of 3 keywords and if you search for it as a broad keyword on Google.com, you'll come up with 61,000,000 results.

As we speak, it's ranked #9 on the 1st page.

By the way, this domain and landing page has:
- no content whatsoever
- ZERO external backlinks
- No meta keywords
- No meta description
- the 3 keywords as its <title> tag

FWIW, the PR of the top 10 result pages for the search on these 3 keywords are:
- PR4
- PR7
- PR7
- PR7
- PR5
- PR6
- PR4
- PR7
- PR0 (That's my site!)
- PR5

So ... be sure to look out for keyword rich domains and build up something basic for them at least. They're worth it because from what I can tell, Google gives decent weightage to this particular factor.

Psst ... I've got many other keyword rich domains and they all rank on page 1 without me even building backlinks to them.

Laters!

yeah, a keyword reach domain always help. BUt the sad thing is it is not always available and often they are damn too long to remember.

Sure, the keyword rich domain may not always be available.

In which case, I'll add modifiers such as "the" (as an example) to the front of the domain (when applicable) and I'll still come right on top.

Yeah. That's exactly how I do it. I have certain modifiers that I always use (And I never use "the").

I don't know if it matters but if I need to add a modifier to get as close to an exact match domain as possible I like to add a modifier to the end of the key phrase rather than adding "the" at the beginning.

How you noticed whether you get the same effect with a hyphenated domain?

For example, your-keyword-domain compared to your keyword domain

and, like the above poster, some additional info on the modifers would be great.

Modifiers to add to the keyphrase could be anything. If "bluewidget.com" is taken you could try:
              bluewidgetsite.com
              bluewidgethq.com (hq for head quarters)
              bluewidgetreviews.com
              bluewidgetworld.com

With a little imagination you can come up with dozens more.

I've been doing lots of KW research lately and keep seeing the same thing over and over again:

high PR neighbourhood and bang in the middle, a nice PR0, no (or very little) backlinks KW-rich domain name.

Yes this will be big advantage to rank quick for the keywords that we are targeting to our site but always backlinks with particular anchor tag will also get top rankings without any keyword in the domain but it takes much time than the earlier..

This does work but is very dependant upon a large number of varying factors. I highly doubt youd have similiar success with "www.acnecures.com"

Are you receiving traffic and sales from it though? If it has no content, meta info or backlinks, what is the visitor getting when they click on it? I've seen this before(even with some of my own domains), but once content and backlinks are added, they can slide down the rankings for a while and later come back at their 'true' position.

Hi Kelvin. A couple of questions, please.

    - How long has the site been up; more precisely, how long did it take from site/domain birth to "#9 on 1st page"?
    - Has the site done a Google dance yet; if not this domain, have other similarly non-promoted high ranking domains which you own done the Google dance; and how did this affect them in the end?

    Thank you

      Hi Y2E,

      1) The domain has been registered since a year ago but (literally speaking) there's NOTHING on this site except for a bunch of words. And I honestly don't know how long it took to get the #9 place. It's just one of my forgotten domains that I recently remembered and did a search for. Wasn't "too surprised" at its rankings though as I've got quite a few keyword rich domains.

      2) It's already past the Google dance stage (that I'm quite sure about).

      Hope that helps!

I was trying to use hyphenated domains and it doesn't work well.

I a getting to little traffic using keywords as in the domain. What tools do you use to find good keywords to use in domain name?

From my experience, hyphenated domains suck (just my experience) so I've never used them ever since.

This forum is a keyword rich domain for me XD I never even knew about this place before I found it by accident when looking into making money while also trying to find a "real" job. Both my site and this site have the word "warrior" in common yet are about entirely different things. So, not sure if it'd make a difference that way but it is a strange coincidence. Hey, maybe I was destined to find you guys!

5 years and my site is STILL doing the google dance. It's really discouraging. We're still in nowhere land for our biggest keyword, but for our next biggest one we rank anywhere from 8 to 15 depending on whatever time of day it is. It changes at random from day to day.

This has been the same for most of the 5 years. I'm hoping to see if there's anything I can do about that.
