OK, explain to me...

Here's the situation:

1) I bought a domain name that was dropped in the past, this domain name was ranking 5th in Google with high search volume
2) I create a website, slap in Adsense in the website and it is showing the ads. That's good.
3) The analytics shows that this site averages 50+ unique visitors PER DAY. That's great!
4) For the past 3-4 days, NO Adsense impressions or clicks.

OK, explain to me, is that a 'ban' or what?

  • Uhm.

Got one like that. ;-) Well, sorta, I don't know if this domain was dropped, but it is just a mystery.

The one I have, I could not even add to google analytics. It just would not take the url. Really bizarre...

Adsense did register SOME impressions, (a small fraction) and I made pennies per day, when receiving over 100 uniques per day. I since removed the Adsense just as a precaution, and it is right now just sitting there...

Interested to see further feedback to your question.

  • Wrong adsense publisher id. Generate new ad blocks, copy and paste them, compare to the old one. If it's not that, I have no idea.

    • I thought of that too. I checked the source code and it's my pub ID.

Other ideas? If not, I'll have to ask Google forum.
  • perhpas the 50 people who visited your site have no interest in clicking on your adsense ads.

Just because you have ads on a page doesn't mean anybody is going to click on them.

    • He said no impressions or clicks.

  • Check the domain name with the Wayback Machine and see if the site was ever associated with adult content, warez, etc.

That could explain a total ban by Google.

    • Nope, it's looking good. The past website is a one page salesletter.
