What is the Link Wheel Strategy and how does it work?

I understand this is a good way for SEO

Thanks

  • It is basically having a bunch of "web 2.0" properties (i.e., blogs, social media/networks, etc) all "link" to a particular domain, in order to artificially "boost" rankings. (Artificial meaning you do it yourself, instead of people naturally linking to you).

It appears google has written a simple algorithm to detect this, so to still get the same kind of "link" juice, you need to have "multiple" social networks link to multiple "subdomains" which then finally link to one "main" website (the "website" to be juiced up).

Though most likely Google will soon write a new algorithm to detect this, it isn't very different from the original strategy. At the moment I can verify this works - I got a website to rank first page of results in Google in 1.5 months using mostly it (and some keyword research).

Link wheel strategy is where you'll be creating web 2.0 websites like wordpress, blogspot, squidoo, and other web 2.0 websites that will link to your money site. In the old days, they just link their web 2.0 websites to their money site which is not a good idea. But now, it has been improved. How? By linking your web 2.0 websites to each of your web 2.0 websites and also to your money site. Why do it that way? Because it will not only increase the popularity of your money site but it will also increase the popularity of your web 2.0 websites which will give MORE power to your money site. That is why it is called the Link Wheel Strategy.

It's safe to say if the masses are teaching it, it's not long before it'll stop working.

      Google is "cleverest".

Yes, Google is cleverest. But back links have been a major part of climbing the SERPs for a long time, and I don't see that changing very soon. And a link wheel is nothing more than a strategy to post a number of high PR back links, and to back link the back links to increase the juice. I could be very wrong, but for the time being, I will put my money on a decent link wheel.

Link wheels where each Web 2.0 property is loaded with unique and good content and have been promoted via social bookmarking, feed submission etc. are very powerful. Although it seems a lot of work but end results are amazing.
