Hi.

Does creating a directory with the keyword as the name help with SEO at all?

For e.g. if my nieche is 'summer holidays' would:

mydomain.com/summerholidays/summerholidays.html

be better then:

mydomain.com/summerholidays.html

Also what about the importance of hyphens, is 'summer-holidays.html' or the directory 'summer-holidays' better then 'summerholidays.html' or 'summerholidays' as the directory name?

Cheers.

Jim.

  • Onsite plays such a small role in ranking now.

I wouldn't duplicate the exact same keyword twice in the URL. No point in that. Makes your URL look spammy to the user.

The best way to answer your questions is this.

Search Google... in your specific niche... what kind of URL's appear in the top results?
