Which do you think is more effective in drawing traffic and provide better backlinks?

Articles directories or web directories?

For me personally, I'm more likely to visit a article directory to get my information rather than a web directory. What are your thoughts?

    I love article directories where we can get both traffic and also good backlinks where in web directories we mostly get only backlinks that too will take many days because the directory admins will take more time...
