Google Pagerank Update coming closeby.... what are UR preparations ?

Google pagerank update is due (maybe) by the end of this month or first week of April.

Let me know what are your preparations ?
This time :

Have you increased more backlinks for your blog/site - (one way links - not link exchanges) ?
Have you added more sites for social bookmarking list of sites and doing the bookmarking thoroughly ?
Have you commented on most of the do-follow blogs and forums ?

    I don't mind if Google updates PageRank nowadays.. I just continue creating backlinks and add more contents to my sites..

    The things you listed are the bulk of SEO. Continue doing these without PageRank in mind and you'll have positive results with your sites.

      I agree, I actually do all these things anyway (well I have them outsourced), so I don't even think about the page rank. Although I noticed mine is now up to a 4, so that is sweet.

      Yes you are right, thatz what I do. But whenever the update is nearby, there is some eagerness to see what are the results of our ultimate hard work, ofcourse in case of SEO, I mean.

      I know, the traffic and the final sale is the outcome of any hard work

    I heard that PR is not a big thing nowadays, As it is just one of the 100 factors which Google consider during keyword ranking. But, that may be a myth or true.

    However, I had done some works for my site to get more traffic.
    I had increased number of backlinks per day to my site. I had used social bookmarks, blog comments (Only from NON SPAMMY blogs), Forums and article submissions to do so.

    Nothing much, but if you do backlinks consistently I'm pretty sure you'll get some PR increment. PR1 - PR4. Stop the leaks on your site to control your PR with "no-follow" tags. IMHO.

    This does nothing to improve the page rank of your own site. All it will do is hurt any site you are linking out to.

    Page rank sculpting loopholes were plugged years ago.

    They update the Toolbar PageRank, whenever they feel like. It's not on a schedule.
    What do you do? Nothing that you aren't always doing, because nothing you do know will change what you can see. The Toolbar PageRank is out of date by the time it's published. In reality it's always being updated.

    I don't pay much attention to their toolbar updates. I've seen that with some of my blogs G-traffic starts flowing according to the number of posts and backlinks I add regardless of PR updates.

    I have seen 2 of my sites jump in traffic after a PR update but nothing significant as to make special preparations for it.

    PR really means nothing to me when I first learned that I can out rank a PR 4, PR5, PR6, PR7 page with a PR0 page of mine by doing the correct onpage optimization.

      As Kirk already said, Google's PR update doesnt influence your ranking or anything in any way! The PR or your site is updated live every day. So your site can already be worth the Pr of a PR1,2,3... site, it's just not shown yet. The PR is in fact not a number between 1-10, it's more complicated than that but google translates their system into the simple numbers they show to the public.

    I do all the things you mentioned but not for an increase in PR....I simply do it because it brings in more money.

    I'll take $$ over PR any day!!
