Hidding your IP software

Hey guys (& girls),

I know this is not your average SEO question but I'm desperately searching for some decent software that will allow me to hide and/or change my IP address so it looks (from a Google analytics point of view) as though i'm viewing a certain web page from a different location to where i'm actually based...

Can anyone recommend a product?

For those who are interested, i'm conducting some really geeky experiments with Google Analytics for a client of mine.

Thanks
Martin

  • You could try proxy servers, proxy browsers, anonymous surfing web browsers, or something like TOR w/ Privoxy.

    • cheers. I've had some pretty bad experiences with proxy servers though. In my experience, most a riddled with spyware and nasty little trojans. I was hoping that someone could recommend a PAID bit of software that they'd used and had no problem with

  • I recommend Tor. It's free and you can change the IP addresses by clicking "Get A New Identity".

  • I'm a big fan of SickMarketing. As it's still quite under the radar its a great tool for link building and is always being developed.
  • tor is good,i use it regularly
  • Also, don't forget to alter your user-agent. A hit from multiple IP addresses, all with the same user-agent is highly improbable, and that will show up in Analytics.

Don't even think about doing that with Adsense. Whoooweee. That's a short term thrill ride straight to a ban.
  • Try Hide MY ASS it's what i use and is very good but its not free.
  • Tor is not designed for high-bandwidth applications, like large downloads or bit torrent. Though it is possible to route this sort of traffic through Tor, it puts an enormous strain on the network and the resulting speed would be slow.
