SEO & Domain Name Question - Advice Needed

Hello everyone -

I have been trying to find an answer to this but honestly, I'm sure exactly what to look for...so here it goes...

I find a keyword phrase I wish to target, like "how to sell cars" for example (not my niche so don't know if a good one or not).

In a perfect world I would register & use the domain name howtosellcars.com, but lets say it's taken.

However, howtosellcarsecrets.com is available.

Now would search engines see that as "how to sell car secrets" or how to sell cars ecrets?"

In other words, would the domain actual count as having my exact, targeted keyword phrase in it?

I'm sure this is clear as mud but if you have any input I would greatly appreciate it!

Jared

your over thinking it...calm down. *Exact* keyword matching in your domain isn't going to make or break your site...get something close and move on to more important things.

While it won't make or break a site, it certainly will help. But perhaps your right on the over thinking it

      On to other things...

As Bob said, don't overcomplicate things. I have sites ranking well for competitive keywords that aren't anywhere in my domains. It's not that important.
