Getting Your Links Indexed?

Hi all,

After about 6 months worth of link building via Angela & Paul's packets, I was absolutely horrified to learn that only 50% of my links (out of about 2000 links) have been indexed by Google.

So for all those web 2.0 profiles, forum profiles, social bookmarking / networking profiles and blog comments i've created since the end of last year, only HALF have been worth the effort

At the end of Angela's monthly packet, she refers to guy called Andy Black who offers a product that helps you check which links have been indexed. Unfortunately, although this looks like a great little product, what it doesn't do is show you how exactly you CAN get all those uncached links indexed by Google.

So, for all the experts out there, can anyone give me a list of things I could try to get my links indexed by the GoogleBot?

Thanks
Martin

    Hey Martin,

    There are two fantastic scripts to help you get your links indexed, both of which are available in the WSO section. Backlink Booster and Backlink Indexer Express.

    I run all of my links through them and they work incredibly well.

    However, some additional things you can do;

    Use a service like html2rss and create RSS feeds from your profile url's. You can then submit the RSS feeds to aggregators using RSS bot or by doing so manually.

    I also will occasionally run some of my un-indexed profiles through Bookmarking Demon if all of the above fails.

      Cheers Pat. I really appreciate the advice.

      Much appreciated.

      Hey Pat,

      I'm struggling to locate these products in the WSO forum:

      * Backlink Booster
      * Backlink Indexer Express.

      Any chance you could fire over the links?

      Cheers
      Martin

    Hey Martin, I have to second what Pat has stated here. Aside from that though, are you checking to see if all of the profiles still exist? As we all know sometimes these profiles get deleted by site admins and therefore cannot be indexed if they do not exist If you need instructions on the easiest way to do this let me know pal..

  • You kind of have to ask yourself why a self promotional link placed on a profile that will never be visited by any real people has any value to the Search Engines.

    Page Rank is not site rank. If you place a link and nothing links into that page then what value does it have?

    So while you were out placing your 1,000's of links and wasting your time... I was doing what other smart marketers do... I was putting myself in front of my target audience by building relationships with sites that actually get used!

    Think about what you are doing.

    It's like placing a lemon-aid stand on a Cul-de-sac. No traffic, no targeting, no customers, no money.

    Always put your efforts where your audience spends their time!

      Are you speaking from experience or are you merely speculating? I ask because I have had a great amount of success using profile links to get sites ranked. I have not used Angela's or Paul's but they do indeed work in terms of getting your pages ranked for their keywords, and what better place to get traffic from then the search engines themselves?

      This I do not understand. How is getting your site ranked high in the SE's anything like this? No one is trying to get traffic from profile links, they are only for ranking your sites. Sorry but this metaphor makes no sense.. Besides, the OP asked for help on how to get links indexed, not if they were worth creating or not.

        Theres 100's of ways to drive traffic - there is no one way. Google is the mac daddy - but there are pletny of people who kicked googles ass to the curb and use other methods.

        Targeting niche sites / forums / blogs and places where your target audience hangs out - and establishing yourself as a credible authority - adding value and all that jazz - can also drive traffic via sig links etc ...

        But then that is NOT the end all be all either - but it can be rather effective.

      It's indirect promotion.

      People don't build profile links for direct traffic, they build them for their power in regards to ranking well for your desired keywords which in turn brings traffic.

      Sure, you can go out and write articles and guest blog and all that type of stuff and get traffic straight away, but many people, myself included prefer to rank well in the search engines and get consistent traffic day after day.

      As of right now profile links do a damn good job of making that happen. 6-12 months from now they might not be as effective, but right now they are very powerful and I will continue to use them until they're not.
