Hello,

Sorry for my bad english, I'm from France!

My blog (Wordpress CMS) is in front of a very strange behaviour on google serp since several months : It get indexed very well and quickly (just 10 minutes after publishing new post) and makes good traffic, and suddenly Google stop indexed well and drop old posts in 2nd or 3rd page of SERP.

Second strange characteristic : certain posts get remained on the top of the SERP.

Each period (Drop, and return, and drop again) lasts 2 weeks.

I don't know if I have the right to post you the URL of my blog ? Anyway, it's on my profile...

I'm not a big specialist, maybe there are lot of errors on my source code or anything else, but I just need your help and your responses to specifically solve this yoyo problem.

Is google dancing from 2 or 3 months ??
Moreover, in bad period, my posts are below websites that grab our feed (whereas in normal period, we are ahead its)... Is it normal, even on a google dance period ?

Maybe Google found some forbidden content on your blog, if not i think that is normal from time to time, wait little bit more and then post again here on WF if you find some more problems with your blog.

OK thanks ! How can I know what content would be "forbidden" from the point of view of google ?
What make websites which let users generated content ? (like news websites which let guest posters post their own posts... if their post could be forbidden content, it will penalize all the site ?).
PS : There is a free area on my blog where users can post their links, news and videos. I've just put rel="noindex" on this user generated content, do you think it's a good way ?

Make sure that your comments are closed and check for any published ones there with links to warez/porn etc.

Google won't penalise you for bad links TO your site BUT will hurt you (SERP-wise) for links to nasty stuff FROM your site.
I have to disagree with part of this.

Linking out to a bad site can hurt your site but just because a site might be adult related doesn't mean it's a bad neighborhood. There are PR 7 porn sites so clearly google isn't penalizing these sites due to content. Also, there are many adult related sites that outrank mainstream sites when it comes to similar keywords, 'sex' would be a good example. The #1 site is an adult site followed by several non-porn sex related sites. If google didn't like porn then that site wouldn't be #1.

Linking out to an already banned or penalized site is different then linking out to adult content.

I think the bad neighborhood myth has been exaggerated.

one other thing, that #1 'sex' site kinda kills the whole content is needed for ranking since it's a video site with nearly no text content... however, they have lots n' lots of backlinks.

    I'm all about that bass.

I have a very large community on this blog.. Is a good idea to deactivate comments ?

Just for test, I have deactivate and recall all comments from the blog (by deactivating php function which call comments template), to see effects on google in short term.

If comments are the cause of yoyo effect (because of bad content/links), is it a good alternative to delink all URL which are in comments, and delink all nicknames which reach external websites ?

All links from comments have always the "external nofollow" atribute...

Okey, I have 2 another informations which maybe will interest you.

First, 'Google Suggest' don't want to suggest the name of my blog when I tape it on the search box, but It suggest 6 alternative names (which are specific to my blog name, e.g. my blog name trunked or with another syntax). It doesn't want to suggest exactly my blog name, whereas it should because it's a very popular blog in FR (and it has been suggested in the past), and because it suggests alternative specific names of the blog name.

I've made some searches and I've found that the only websites that are not suggested by google (excepted little sites) are the adult websites...

Secondly, after realise the first point, I decided to "clean" my blog from possibly spam comments, adult content or link, etc... and I remebered that I've had on certain pages (just 10 or 15 very old articles) some affiliate links to adult site. I've now deleted its.

Are these informations good for my problem ? Causes of my problems, according to you ?
What can I make to let Google rehabilitate my blog like a normal site ? And to let it suggest its name on search box (and not alternative names or "truncate" name as it makes now), displayed the "Google Site Links" (which has disapperead since several months), and not play yoyo with my ranks and keywords ? (7 000 keywords on good period, 1 800 on bad period, according to Google Analytics...).

I have maybe a last idea for the reason of the Yoyo-effect, but only you experts can say if it would be a main cause of my problems. I'm using an extern 'related posts' widget (can I say in the forum the name of the service which offer this tool for free ?). This widget manage related posts instead of me (better for charge servor), but when the visitor click on a related post, it's taking him on a redirection which lead him on the site of related post service, to finally reach the related post of my blog...

I have difficulties to explain the system in english because it's not my tongue, but I can say that in my related posts, there is a redirection to another site.

Note : this widget is a javascript code : "script src = ***.com/widget.js"

And the URL is in this form (I've put *** instead of site name) :
    widget.******.com/redirect?url=http%3A//******/&vars=%5B%22http%3A//******/%22%2C%2070491%2C%200%2C%20%22http%3A//******/%22%2C%20null%2C%200%2C%2017331403%5D&ts=126...

    I've just deactivate it. Should I ?
