Hi Warriors, I hope you all had a great weekend!?

I've a simple question to ask but I feel it will have serious implications for SEO. I keep coming across the term ''sandboxed'' but cannot find an appropriate explanation of it. Could someone please tell me what it means and how to avoid being ''sandboxed''?

    Signs of the Sandbox

    1. Your website not appearing in the Top 100 results.

    Common Theories Related to the Sandbox

    1. Your website is not worthy of the No.1 position (because it's new).

    2. Your website got 10,000 backlinks, but your website was up only recently. (This rarely happens, unless someone spams six-figure amount of backlinks to your website).

    In conclusion, forget about it. If Google wants your website to be sandboxed, you get the sandbox.

    Here is an example of the "sandbox". I sent a few thousand backinks to two of my websites. They dropped out of the top 100 for a week but now one of them has come back to #14. The other one will probably come back soon. This has happened to me before, so I know it does happen to people.

    Both sites were over five years old. All I did was add the backlinks and changed nothing else. I have never had a site de-indexed for adding backlinks, just goes away for a while.

    I think this is different that what people call the "google dance". That's when your website just jumps all around for a while. Example: One of my sites kept bouncing from top ten to around 40 and back again.

    • This is just the Google Algorithm trying to figure out where to put your site due to all of the incoming backlinks. This isn't what people refer to as the "sandbox", because the sandbox is something people refer to for new domains.

      Is there a tool I can use to find my site's exact position in a Google search rather than having to trawle through all the search pages in a hope of actually finding it?

  • The sandbox is a myth made up by SEO Kiddies as an excuse for their crap sites not ranking as well as they would like.

    The SEO professionals stopped talking about the sandbox a few years ago.
