How to determine if a blog's comment are dofollow
- SEO |
First of all when dealing with a Word Press blog it may be hard to find a post that has comments on some sites. Rather then clicking on each post looking for one with comments append "/comments/feed" to the website's URL. An example is http://example.com/blog/comments/feed or http://example.com/comments/feed depending on where the site has installed the Wordpress blog. This is the RSS feed URL for comments on Wordpress blogs. This will bring up a webpage that displays the comments RSS feed in a readable format. You then click on one of the links and go directly to a post that contains comments.
Once you locate a post that contains comments you want to view the source of the page. In Internet Explorer right click with your mouse and choose "View Source". In Fire Fox right click on the page and choose "View Page Source". This will open another browser window showing the code source of the page.
Once you are viewing the source press "CTRL+F" to open the search box. Enter "nofollow" without the quotes in the search box. If any results are found confirm it actually applies to the comment(s) by locating a link in the comments and looking at the code around the link. If the link has "nofollow" within the code before the link then the blog is nofollow.
Hope this helps.
