Site gone missing

Need a little help. I can not find my site on google. Two days ago it was ranking around page 10 and slowly rising. The site is about 3 months old. And now I cannot find it. When I type the direct link in google search it pops up. Does this mean my site has been place in the google sandbox?

The site does shows up in bing and yahoo.

Thanks in advance

  • Whats the domain name?

My browser sometimes bounces my site all over the place randomly depending on what its mood is at that particular time...

At least if I check it I will be able to confirm its location

    • If you've done a lot of promotion recently it's probably just bouncing up and down the rankings .. (Google dance) give it a short while and It will come back.
    • Evomark, I've had the very same problem...my site was ranked on the 10th page (and climbing) and all of a sudden, it's completely gone from google search.....what is happening????

  • Is there a reason why it should have been sandboxed?

Google messes around all of the time, so I wouldn't be worried unless it lasts longer than a few days. 3 months is still quite a new site, and I've seen older sites drop down 10 pages in the SERPs for a couple of days only to reappear in a nice position.

Trying to make sense out of it all would drive you crazy. That's the Google dance

    • Ewan Cormack, I did some social bookmarking Monday night but only a with a few of them. Other than that I have not done anything for the last week or so. I was thinking that maybe the social bookmarking set off some alarms and google reacted. That is why I started to think the site maybe sandboxed. But maybe it is just as someone mentioned the "google dance".

      We shall see...
  • That might be your problem. Young sites often get sandboxed because Google doesn't trust them at all. I would say to keep on w/ you on-page optimization as well as off-page - it should pop back up.
  • Try this command to test your site:

    site:yourdomain.com
    info:yourdomain.com

If they are there, most probably Google dancing only. Get more authority backlinks (PR 6 and above would be nice), build your trust rank first before page rank.
  • Thats going to happen its google! Keep adding content and wait chances are it will come back.
  • Thanks for all the insight. As it stands now my site is jumping all around page 9 one day, page 10 the next, then back to 9, then to 13... man oh man...

Guess I just have to wait it out...
