The PR for most of the directories are wrong.

For ex, Web Directory is having PR 0 but it's given as PR 5. The same is the case with 4-EverY-1.com the searchengine for englisch speaking people

For this you are required to submit your own web on more than 500 directories and then you can make a separate list of those directories which accepts you site fast.

If you ever want to catch directories as they are coming online, we have a section here in our forums (login required) where new phpLD owners announce their directories. Generally it is easier to get successfully listed in newer directories.

Besides DMOZ, and dir.yahoo, I have never had a directory do anything for my SERP. And yes, have submitted to hundreds, before I learned how to SEO.

  Ok, well there are lots of cases of submitting only to directories and moving right to #1 or the top 10. Obviously, more competitive keywords require more work, regardless of your methods.
