AdWords Campaigns not running?

I had one campaign that was running that I paused after a day or two.

Now I made a similar campaign with new keywords, everything is on the 'green-light' but the campaign is not running.

I'm using this campaign to determine exactly the amount of impressions a keyword gets. Basically I put up an unrelated (fake-ad), a $50.00/day budget and a $10.00 bidding price.

Now, normally this works perfect to find the number of impressions, but now it doesn't. The ads are approved and everything, it just doesn't run?

Could it be a problem because this is my second account (same payment details?)..? Or because the ad is unrelated to the keywords?

PPC experts, what's your take?

Cheers,
Collatio

Ads on new accounts go through editorial first. It may take a week or two to start displaying on the search network.

do you have a good quality score ? and it you place your cursor over the keyword dialog what does it say in regards the ad displaying or not ?

There could be multiple reasons for this. Run your cursor over your keywords and check their status.

Thanks, this might be the reason.

I think I've found the error - by the way, my quality score is 5/10.
      Here it is:

      Showing ads right now?
      No

      • The keyword phrase doesn't currently trigger any of your ads.
There are several possible reasons your ad isn't showing for this keyword, including:
        • You just added the keyword to your campaign. You may experience a short wait as your keyword goes through the review process.
        • Our system is experiencing a delay.

So it's not a fault of mine? Just gotta wait I reckon, or is it because the ad is totally unrelated?

      @tryinhere,

The idea is to get the number of impressions for these keywords (and thus knowing exactly the # of searches daily) while not having anyone click your actual ads.

So the ads are about something random, the website it is pointing to is about something random, but I know exactly the number of impressions instead of relying merely on the Google Keyword Research Tool estimate.

ok i have heard of this being done but people usually fire the ads at the top level listing not some random ? seems like a lot of pain / hope it works out for you.

Are you signed on as automatic or manual bidding. If you signed on as auto, you may be below their minimum bid for page 1. However, it sounds as though they have "flagged" you for some reason, it may require you to get another domain name. You may simply be in the penalty box. New domain.

What is your current position in relation to your impressions? One of the things that I like to do is jack my bids up for a new campaign to get more impressions & clicks. Then over the course of a week I'll bring them back down again. This usually helps!

If you can get a good click through rate, a lot of times you can keep the same traffic levels as well!

I think this might be it, as I used the domain before for a campaign similar to it! It doesn't show anywhere this is the reason though..?

I have a fixed bid of $10.00, while most CPC averages are near 0.50$.
I should be getting a top level listing right?

My position is 0, my impressions are 0. My bids are 10.00$.
Thanks but I think you misread my first post.
