Hi. I was just wondering whether it is a good idea to use content from article directories on my blog? Will it affect my SEO rankings as the content will be found by google as duplicate content?

    You'd better not. The original content is always the best for both human and SE.

    That's what article directories want webmaster's to do,& that's why I write articles, to help people like you put content on your blogs and web site. Don't worry so much about duplicate content stuff. I would also write my own content so you would have a mixture for your readers. But at the end of the day it's not about goolge, SEO, PPC ,PPV,Articles, Videos, Blackh,whitehat, bookmarking,duplicate content,links,podcast,ETC IT'S ABOUT YOUR READERS, GIVE THEM GOOD STUFF, IF IT'S OFF AN ARTICLE DIRECTORIE SO WHAT!!! Long as it is GOOD They will come back and make you rich!!!

      I agree, if your going to take content from an article directory for the purpose of "finding quality articles and providing those on your website", then you should be fine.

    Duplicate content will not negatively effect your rankings but it also wont help it as much as unique content. Even by simply re arranging the duplicate content and adding a few sentences you are adding more value.

    It also depends on your overall goal. I mean if the website is a small site which you make money on the side on autopilot with, then you can use duplicate content. It doesnt really matter.

    But if you are creating a long term business and a long term authority site then you should stick to unique.
