Backlink strategy, best practices

I've just subscribed to Angela's, Paul's and Joe's backlink packets, and I'm wondering if there are any general rules of thumb for submitting them.
One concern is for the need to assume multiple identities - yes? no?
I'm sure there are other tips and tricks out there, any pointers?

  • There are some excellent backlinking systems around. These can also be set up in such a way to be virtually auto-promoting if you wish. That is, requiring little manual input beyond the initial setting up.

As an introduction, consider the comments made by Bob Williams in this interesting article:

Simple Steps To Get To First Page Of Google With A Link Wheel And A Balanced Link Building Campaign

    • Thanks Vicone - I may need to explore some kind of system - Bob Williams' article was enlightening, but seemed to detail more work (and risk) than I'm prepared for.
My real challenge starting out is in finding unique content for my authority site - another topic, but apparently tied directly to link building.
The three subscribed link packets referenced above total about 160 per month - I may need an outsourced solution.
  • In addition you can use article marketing, blogging, blog commenting, directories, web 2.0 sites like hubpages and squidoo, social bookmarking and more.

    • I do these things as well and it returned me good conversions and traffic. You'll just have to seek some help and learn to outsource!

  • absolutely-google friendly press releases, articles, blogs, and videos(youtube) are places to get the best backlinks fast.
  • If you are going to being doing multiple sites with the packets then yes you would need to have more than one account. Too many backlinks under a single account is a red flag that will get more of your backlinks deleted.
  • I find article marketing gets me more backlinks and better results than those type of links. I wouldn't use them as a main linking strategy but people seem to like them so it would be good to hear your results.
  • In order to rank high and do it rather quickly I would suggest outsourcing your back linking on Outsource to Freelancers, IT Companies, Programmers, Web Designers from India, Russia, USA, and more - oDesk or another outsourcing site because you will find that back linking to be a very tedious and time consuming process. You can get an outsourcer for as cheap as .25 cents a back link to do 100 back links for you in two days while you focus on higher priority activities for your business.

When back-linking I usually have 4 different e mail accounts per 100 links so I do not leave a footprint behind when placing the back-links. I also instruct my outsourcers to use a picture in each profile in order to make it look more authentic and make the link stay index for much longer than usual.

Also like many have mentioned good avenues for back link are high pr article directories like ezinearticles, go articles, buzzle, article dashboard.

Posting on do follow blogs will get you some good back links too especially if you can find older ones with a high page rank.

    • While I agree with this post, BE VERY CAREFUL about who you outsource your link building to. I had a couple link building campaigns done back in october, none of those links are showing up today. Must have been deleted.

    • I agree with Vanquish here as far as outsourcing the backlink packets. It's just too tedious and time consuming for you being an Internet Marketer and needing to wear multiple hats.
  • profile backlinks kick ass. Brute Force SEO EVO II is the way to go for those imo. I'm currently looking for good directory lists, and an outsource service for blog commenting. it's all about balance... too many of 1 type of link will sway google negatively...

    • What ever your backlinking method is, the key is to do it consistently. As for profile backlinks like Angela's or Joe's packets, ensure that you submit the rss feeds to get your backlinks indexed. Then only you will experience maximum effect.

  • Finding winning link building formula is long process
and takes much time and investments.
Not everyone want to share it.

My advice is to learn basic SEO and try experimenting and developing
    your own methods.

  • I am not sure if this kind of links really help a site;s SERP. Because as far as I know there are a lot of people who does the same thing. Are sites mentioned in the packets not highly spammed or anything? Anyway in regards to your tip question I suggest that you ping the profiles after you make them
  • Ya I agree with you that we should have quality backlinks rather than bulk of backlinks...

    • Most people (including SEO experts) dont know what is a "quality backlink". They think a quality backlink is a link from a high page rank site and from a relevant site (which is in the same niche as your website). Hence they focus on directories, article marketing, bookmarking, blogging etc. But this is only 50% accurate.
They do all the above and still cant rank well.

The reason why they cant rank well (even if they think they have quality backlinks) is because google does not rate these backlinks as true quality backlinks - because these are considered by google as forced links. In the eyes of google these are not quality backlinks AND GOOGLE HAS SYSTEMS TO IDENTIFY FORCED LINKS.

Good quality backlinks (according to google) is when another site from a higher page rank creates a link naturally. To do this they need to put a link within the content section of a page.

10 natural quality links = 100 forced quality links IMO.

If anyone thinks google cant differentiate between a natural and a forced link then think again. They do!

  • Its a quick way of building backlinks.. You should try to outsource them or u can do it yourself but try to automate it with plugins or softwares if you can afford. Switch anchors and dont let the profile look spammy
  • How long should we wait before our profile backlinks are indexed?

I have submitted to a site with PR3 for about 1 month ago and still has it not been indexed.
Should I made a post also on that site? I have heard that it only is needed to make a profile with signature backlink.
