My Site is no longer in the SERPS for my keywords

Was doing great on the rankings.....raising up and even hit the #3 spot for a few days then one morning I got up to check my stats and my site is no where to be found.

I see that my site is still indexed by using the command site:www.mysite.com however it is no longer in the SERPS for it's given keywords.

The site has been up for about 2 months or so and has around 120 backlinks to the site using all legit methods....mostly forum backlinks and a few articles.

What do you think happened and do you think it will ever bounce back into the SERPS for it's given keywords?

Sounds like the google dance to me. I wouldn't worry about it too much this is pretty normal. The site should come back soon. No telling how long "soon" is though. Once the SERPS adjust you should see your site ranked for your keyword again.

A few days ago one of my sites dropped from page 3 to page 6. I'm pretty sure this was the google dance too and it should return to page 3 or higher once the SERPS adjust.

How long has it been gone for keywords ? If its in last couple of days, Im taking a very wild guess that rolling caffeine out might skew results untill its been rolled on all data centres.

This happens all the time due to the nature of Google's algorithm. Keep getting links at a steady consistent rate and you'll see your SERP rankings settle out soon enough.

The most important thing to do is not suddenly change what you're doing because of this.

Mate it sucks dont it !! My site was sitting at the number 3 spot for months making a nice $20-$30 a day then start of this month bang gone and its been 25 days now, the sites a year old, 700 backlinks from articles, social book marking and profile pages, It has done this before though and came back stronger than ever so as long as you can see it by site:.... dont worry its still in the index you`ll just have to plod on as it WILL come back i can assure you. I have posted lots of time over this problem and no body can tell you for sure whats happened or how to get you site back as no one really knows, i could be wrong but the google dance i dont think lasts this long after google made changes a few years back so god knows why sites do this but they do. so i will give you the only advice any body can give and thats... keep backlinking and stop worryin it`ll be back go build another site !!

      cheers Jim

Don't worry to much about it. One of my sites disapeard for almost 4 weeks, than it came back somewhere on position 4xx.

After a couple days it moved to position 210, than later on pos 21 and now its on position 11.

        It will come back stronger!

120 backlinks seems to be a small amount of backlinks. IF you want to regain or increase your rankings you can increase your backlinks further more and use your keywords as an anchor text.

sounds like the google sandbox to me. Just keep working on your site, building links, etc. It should normalize after your site gets some age on it.

Glad to hear it came back. Mine is struggling at the moment because I stupidly swapped the domain name and the site design on the same day - not a good move! Backlink building is top of my to do list at the minute lol

This issue becomes normal now since last one year. The Google dance can take a site to top position and after few days can take it to 100th rank as well. Till now no one is able to find the answer of this Google dance but we have to live with it. The only thing which you can do is to make more strong backlinks and more strong on page optimization.
