Hi guys,

I want to get into Offline marketing but I'm honestly not qualified at the moment as I don't really know SEO. What is the best place I can go to to learn SEO. I need to be able to rank number 1 in Google for clients and such.

Thanks.

  • Hello Eric,

Well, you're in the right place. Search for a dude named Mario Brown on WF
and/or go to youtube and type in "LOCAL SEO" and check out the videos.

    • There is a search function at the top of the forum, seriously, it will lead you to gold .
  • Ranking on page one or even #1 for local search terms like "Dentist west Hollywood" isn't that hard. But thats only a small part of what you need to offer your offline clients.

    Check out this thread

  • Hey Eric,

Check out my thread HERE, it's a step by step guide to performing basic on-site SEO for offline businesses and making $499 over and over again from offline businesses. It's also a great place to start for beginner SEO type stuff!

  • SEO for a local offline business is much easier than SEO on a national or global scale. There are many useful threads right here on the WF that pretty much cover everything you need to know....
Google Local Business Center has a lot of information & is most helpful for local SEO. Also YouTube has a bunch of video's covering local SEO topics....I suggest taking a look...

If you are a little "SEO challanged" you can always outsource these duties until you feel up to speed to carry on with it yourself....outsoursing can be a very helpful business tool for any business...

Local SEO is not the only offline marketing menu to concentrate on...so don't let that hold you back from getting started.....even a basic knowledge can get you in the ballgame. Managing a team of outsourse partners can be a valuable asset.

    Good luck,

    • Yes--I agree. Outsourcing to the Phillippines and places like that. There are several people who know SEO and they are willing to work it for you.
  • Depends on what you are trying to rank #1 for. Some key phrases are easy, other popular ones may require a lot of work. Just keep reading up on as much seo info you can find. Both on site and off site optimization. Paying someone to do it for you really varies in prices. Be sure to do your homework and research before hand.

    • Thanks for the advice everybody.

      Frank... WOW... what a thread
  • My eyes sure were opened when I saw how much less competition there was in the local markets. Ranking globally can be very difficult, you've got the whole world against you!

Chances are there aren't many, if any, people in your area doing this stuff. I know offline may seem saturated because of all the attention it gets here on warrior, but the reality is that very few people actually take action and are doing this out there.

Everyone has their own approach, but I really like Andrew Cavanaugh's laid back method. It focuses on creating relationships with people and getting them to open up, which is a very effective business model to move forward with. So many companies just push their service out there without having any warmth or depth to wanting to actually connect with a person.

Once you get out there and start building relationships, you'll be surprised where things can take you

  • Head over to seomoz.org, and read pretty much all of Andy Jenkins material. Just read good stuff, keep on reading and remember that with just a bit of reading you will still know more than 99% of business owners.

  • The first step in any SEO program is determining the proper keywords your customers are searching. You'll want to focus on only a few keywords at first and get more links per each keyword...this is known as link equity. This will lead to better rankings. And, of course, you'll want to focus on daily link building strategies.
