I know that Google Adword is pretty much a king in the term of traffics, search, and sales. But since my Google Adword had been banned in the last years and I am have no much luck with the SEO, I decide to give a try on Yahoo PPC..but then, I kinda skeptic on this whole Yahoo PPC since I am pretty much live under the Google's wing for a long time.

Many peoples told me that the traffic that Yahoo PPC brought is ridiculously low but how low could it be? 1% over Google search?

Is there any success story of warriors in here who are using Yahoo PPC service? I am not aiming high like 5 digits earning per month...In fact, I would be extremely satisfied if I can earn steady $500 per month with it.

Yahoo used to work really well for me a couple of years ago but Microsoft/Bing has surpassed them in perfomance as of late.

This is how I would rank the major PPC's:

    1. Google AdWords (#1 because of the traffic)
    2. Bing/Microsoft (lower CPC, good CPA)
    3. Yahoo (will be phased out within a year)

Yahoo and Microsoft are forming an alliance which will take effect within the next year: Yahoo! and Microsoft to Implement Search Alliance - Yahoo! Finance

If you can't open an AdWords account, I recommend starting with Microsoft adCenter.

Yahoo Search Ads will be powered by Microsoft/Bing. So yes, Yahoo Advertising Platform will cease to exist.

MSN/Microsoft has been trying to buy Yahoo! for a couple years now, and to my knowledge has been unsuccessful in the aquisition.

Yahoo is in the midst of major marketing to bring their name back into the game. I may be wrong but they have held top 5 status in ranking online for many many years.

I love Yahoo Search marketing. it has done me very well over the years. I hope that they don't sell out. If they did it would be one of the largest mergers in corporate history....

But to answer the question...Yes. Yahoo PPC is very profitable if you use it correctly. They have not prospered so well for what 10+ years if they were not.'

Yahoo and Microsoft have agreed a 10 year search deal. I received an e-mail from both companies earlier this year stating that Microsoft will power all Yahoo Ads. The changeover may take up to 1 year.

I recommend for anyone using Yahoo PPC to sign up with Microsoft PPC if you haven't yet done so.

As part of the Yahoo! and Microsoft Search Alliance, you will eventually transition to using the Microsoft adCenter platform.

              This. ^

When 2 of the top tier search engines get together to compete with Google, you just know something good is up ahead.

Competition is going to bring some pretty cool things to advertisers.

But yes, Yahoo PCC used to convert tons better than Adwords. I just hate their user interface and lack of dynamic keyword insertion features. This is a deal breaker for me.

I completely agree. Their user interface is slow, time consuming and tedious.

They've finally released a Desktop Version. Although, the timing is suspect since Yahoo will eventually transition to the Microsoft adCenter platform.

Well, it was the longest "beta" program I've ever participated in, but I received this email from the Yahoo Partner Network this past week:
    Dear Publisher,

Yahoo! continuously evaluates and prioritizes our products and services, in alignment with business goals and our continued commitment to deliver the best consumer and advertiser experiences. After conducting an extensive review of the Yahoo! Publisher Network beta program, we have decided to close the program effective April 30, 2010. We expect to deliver final publisher payments for the month ending April 30, 2010 to publishers no later than May 31, 2010. All publishers eligible for 1099s for the 2010 tax year will have those mailed by January 31, 2011.

Because our content will no longer be delivered to your ad unit spaces after April 30, 2010, we recommend removing all YPN ad code from your pages by that date.

For the opportunity to continue earning revenue, we suggest using Chitika, a leading advertising network that syndicates Yahoo! Content Match and Sponsored Search ads. Chitika has set up a special process for YPNO beta publishers to participate in its platform. Click here for more information.

We thank you for your participation in the Yahoo! Publisher Network beta. If you have any questions regarding this announcement, please contact our Support Team at (866) 785-2636, Monday through Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. PDT.

    Sincerely,

    Your Partners at Yahoo!
I would suggest that you look elsewhere.

I love Yahoo! They have great traffic and still a lot of volume. I have several campaigns that do very very well. Bing is great too but the volume is not quite there yet.

Yahoo for me used to be somewhat profitable. But as others have stated, Bing performs much better in most niches.

In saying that though, Adwords is still king. Even though it's too competitive nowadays to be truly profitable (unless of course you have deep pockets).
