Site Dissapearing From Google

Warriors,

I purchased an backlink building pack from the WSO Forum. I've been building feverishly with the links provided (mostly profile links) for the past two days.

Now....my site disappeared from google's rankings all together!

I still have a PageRank of 3/10, but my homepage is no longer showing at #7 on Google as it was before.

Any help would be appreciated!

  • Daniel is right.

Don't waste your time checking on this, just keep at it setting up new sites.

  • It's probably nothing. If it doesn't return soon, Search for your keywords on Google, then select Advanced Search. Select, 100 returns per page (or something like that). Go to the last page and see if your site is there, somewhere on the last page. If so, you may have over optimized for 1 keyword and your site is being punished. Likely NOT the case, but I thought it might be useful for you down the road.
  • I wouldnt worry about it. Its just the "google dance". Sites; especially newer sites, will bounce around the rankings quite a bit. They may appear on the first page one day, and then be no where to be found for a couple of weeks. I have lots of sites that go through this as I am constantly building new sites; its just part of the business. Sometimes it can take a couple of weeks to get back to its normal rankings.

I have one site that started out around #5, then left the rankings altogether for a couple of weeks, then bounced back to #3, then went down to 149, and now it sits at #1. I expect that it will bounce some more, but probably not for long as it ages. Its nerve racking...I know! But most likely nothing is "wrong".

    • I LOVE it when my sites drop dramatically from where they were ranking as it generally means they're going to come back ranking higher soon enough.

The worst thing you can do now is stop building links. Keep doing what you're doing and rest assured it'll be back soon enough.

  • Awesome! Thanks for the positive feedback guys!
  • Did you try doing a google search for

    site:yourdomain.com

    ?

I'm willing to bet it's still indexed and just not showing up in the same ranking as before. Like others said, this is the "Google Dance".
  • what if it's an MFA site with no link building, still no cause for worry?
