How Are People Ranking Clickbank Products in Local Search? *proof inside*

Ok, so recently I was doing keyword research for an offline client and stumbled upon something interesting.

Somehow Google has managed to put a Clickbank Money Product in the 3 box local search.

Is this because the physical address is in the same area as the search query? I'm stumped.

The search term is, "pigeon forge forclosures" without quotes.

Not likely, I'm nowhere near that address and it came up for me too.

      Netmatrix,

I think he means that the physical address of the CB money product is the sames as the area in the map.

In that case... the reason they show up on the map is because they have a Local Business Center account set-up for their Affiliate page.

        https://www.google.com/accounts/Serv...hl=en-US&gl=US

It clearly states "Local business results"

I've seen this before too. I've also seen Clickbank products in the "Shopping Results" section. Probably not a good long-term strategy as G will likely find it and shut it down quickly.

      Apparently, until someone reports it.

      Google Local Business Center Guidelines:

Business Listings in Local Business Center must have correct information about physical, local businesses, as they appear in the real world. Google reserves the right to suspend access to Local Business Center or to other Google Services to individuals or businesses violating these guidelines.
      • Represent your business exactly as it appears in the offline world. The name on Google Maps should match the business name, as should the address, phone number and website.
      • Do not attempt to manipulate search results by adding extraneous keywords or a description of your business into the business name.
      • Do not create listings at locations where the business does not physically exist.
