Ok, I have three separate sites that I have gotten ranking on the first page of Google and almost nothing to show for it. Here are the details:
Site 1:
My questions are:
Thanks!
Site 1:
- Health remedy niche
- Site launched July 2009
- 6600 searches/month
- 4,680,000 competing results
- Site ranks #9 (was as high as #1 for a period, but has been on first page for several months)
- 1 affiliate sale to date
- Health remedy niche
- Site launched August 2009
- 6600 searches/month
- 3,110,000 competing results
- Site ranks #4 (has fluctuated between #1 & #11)
- 1 Affiliate sale to date
- Musical instrument instruction niche
- Site launched November 2009
- 12100 searches/month
- 10,200,000 competing results
- Site ranks #2 (has fluctuated between #1 & #11)
- 0 Affiliate sales to date
My questions are:
- Why aren't they getting more traffic for such high rankings?
- What do you think is the best type of site structure for an affiliate site? (All three sites above are set up as blogs with a static review/soft pre-sell page as the static home page)
- Is it worth putting any more effort into these sites, or should I just walk away knowing that I can achieve high rankings and maybe focus on other niches?
Thanks!
