Google Minus 50/60 Penalty

Anyone with any experience of this?

I believe it is an automatic penalty rather than manual. I seem to have got it for around 12 of my sites which are on the same server and were all interlinked. I have removed the interlinking as from doing some research this seems like a possible issue though the sites were all related.

Some other sites which were also interlinked were not affected because they were hosted elsewhere. Every site affected has dropped from the first page to around page 5, 6 or 7 for all search terms which previously had page one rankings.

I set up all the sites in Google webmaster tools and checked for any bad outgoing links or malware but found nothing.

It's only been 5 days but its hard not to worry.

so how long do I wait it out before submitting a reconsideration request?

    I had my major affiliate income site penalized not that long ago, it takes THREE MONTHS and your site will rise and shine again.

      yeah I notice a lot of people mentioning 3 months however some have also said days and weeks while others said the reconsideration request got them back after 4 days or so. What was it that got your site the penalty do you think?
  • Let me remember, i did pauls/angelas and i had link wheels done...thinking back now i might say it was probably the link wheels.

    • Thanks George. so you deleted the link wheels and profile links as best you could and submitted a re inclusion request but to no avail? until the 3 month period was up.
