Hey Everyone,

I've been learning about IM for a few months now and have started my first niche blog. I'm still fuzzy though about how to build backlinks and how to link to sites.

If there's anyone around here that is willing to give me the "click by click"
of how to pull this off It would be greatly appreciated.

I would llike to learn how to do it myself first before outsourcing so I can get a better understanding of IM as a whole.

Thanks in advance for all of your input.

Burk

Do you mean an overall strategy or the actual task of creating the backlink?

Here are some tips we like to provide on doing your own SEO...
Off-page factors involve continuous, daily link- building methods, including:
    • It's all about links, links, and more links!
    • Be sure to include the keyword in the anchor text [or clickable text] of your links.
    • Stick to one link-building method and strive to do at least 50 to 100 links per month using ONLY that method.
    • Try to get links back to as many pages as you can within your website. Don't simply focus your links on the homepage.
    • Any link is a good link--from sources such as directory submissions and press releases--that includes the keyword in the anchor text. Don't be too focused on what type of link or its source.
    • Quality links are of more value to your website than the quantity of links.
    • Simply place a link on the homepage for your target website on any of your other sites.
    • Don't reciprocal link!

      Thanks for reponding guys.

I'm just talking about the physical act of creating the backlink. I understand the concept of SEO and strategy so far as I know it, but I've only been learning for a short time and I am just now putting my first niche blog together.

I would like to learn how to physically create the backlinks for myself so I can get a better understanding of IM as a whole, but I'm still fuzzy on how to actually create a backlink and how many different types there are.

Is it as simple as leaving my blog's URL in the comments section of a blog with a related topic?

I've done my research and I don't need very many links at all. Probably around 50 would put me over the top. With the keywords I'm trying to rank for there is only one site with a PR of 4, two with PR 2 and the rest are 0. The PR 4 site only has 27 backlinks! I'm sure they're good quality links though. I can find out where they are and try to get them also. The rest of the competition on the front is weeeeaaak!

Thanks again, hope to hear back from you
