Redirect exact keyword domain name to established name?

Do redirected pages/domains get indexed by Google? Suppose I have an established domain, but I'm able to get a better domain name that matches an exact keyword. Could I 301-redirect the exact keyword domain to a relevant page on the established domain?

I'm thinking I'll get a boost for having an exact match domain name, that will make it easier to rank it in search results, than it is to rank the page on the established domain. But I'm wondering if that's considered deceptive enough by Google to backfire on me. Or maybe redirected pages don't get indexed at all.

A better domain name does not mean better traffic. It
just makes domain brokers and sellers rich.

Domains do not get indexed or have PR.

They must have content, backlinks, etc. that exist
on the web. A domain that is server side forwarded
would never get indexed, let alone rank. It's a parked
    domain.

The flip side would be a domain that was associated with
a webpage that had PR, then got parked. The PR would
    slowly fade away to nothing.

Doing a 301 redirect would still be useless for a brand new
domain unless you are looking for type-in traffic.

Stick with what you have and improve it.

Too many people fall into this trap of domain name worry.

How do you think people find warrior forum? Doing a search
    for warriors?

If you get a new domain, you could transfer the content of
your present site to the new site. Then do a global 301 redirect
of the old site to the new. It would transfer a little PR and backlinks,
but eventually would need to stand on its own.
