why are you posting these?

it doesn't make you cool... it just an easy way to make sure these site will be completely useless in a month.

if you were smart you'd keep these to yourself because sharing isn't going to do you any good and it doesn't matter how many times other newbies 'thank' you on WF it's not going to put any more money in your pocket. I think I shall now spam them to death with some porn links just to put the final nail in the coffin for these sites.

Why would these be useless in a month, I've used this method for a few months now and it does act as a backlink.

Why would you want to spam good .edu links, are you some sort of immature ****wit or something?

Being that it's 4:22am, I don't think school starts for another 4 hours.

Posting .edu links on a public forum like this one is only going to invite people to use and abuse those sites.

It's not a question of if they make good backlinks or not it's only a matter of time before the mods for those sites realize what is happening and close them down and once that happens they are useless for you and anybody else who might be using them.

that is why posting these type of links on a site like this is only going to damage their value.

doesn't really matter to me since I have better backlinking options but when these sites are shut down you can only blame yourself.

nice language btw... somebody feeling a bit insecure with themselves?

Others experiences might differ, but...

As someone who has put up maybe 25,000 profiles in his lifetime, I have noticed zero added effect of getting a link from an .edu or .gov link versus an equal PR domain that is not an .edu or .gov link.

But the thing is most of your sigs have not been indexed by google which will make it useless until it does happen.

What advice do you have on that?

I have been pinging them, creating an RSS feed through:

HTML to RSS Feed Creator and Aggregator, easily create rss feeds by Peter Drew

Then promote it with:

RSS feed Directory - Feedage.com.

But the ones I have done so far, no luck, its not been indexed. Any suggestions on what further measures to take?

I think you have good intentions by sharing these sites and we thank you for that. However, jasonmorgan is correct. Because you posted them here they will be spammed to death and useless very soon. Although I do think he was a little harsh in telling you that but he got his point across.
