Hey everyone I understand that .com , .net, .org are fantastic to get but what about .biz , .me , .us - are those good to buy because I want the keyword in my domain but all the good ones are taken.

any past experience in ranking other type of domains out? is it worth it or should I just move on?

Thanks

Checking domain availability should be an early step in your keyword research, you don't want to spend loads of time on research only to find that your domain of choice is not available. If .com, .org or .net are not available, in my opinion you should just move on.

There is lot of other perfectly good domain extensions besides .com .net or .org From SEO perspective it would not make any difference what your domain extension is. And depending on your project sometimes some other domain extension is lot more suitable than .com

One of our site is on info domain and it would not make much sense with any other extension.

And i will snag the info or biz and then laugh at the way to the bank I would also rather "prefer" .com .org or .net - but #1 in Google is #1 in Google, no matter what

I always go .com, .net, or .org because it seems to be much easier to rank well for these TLD's. I've never had a .info, .biz, .us, etc. do well at all and I treated them exactly the same.

Yeah that prchecker.info is one of google's favorites.

And how cool was it to take a dot info and be #1 for
a google product? That's huge, man, huge.

And I mean prchecker.info has no rivals for pagerank
          checking. None.

That drives the dot com only people crazy.

Three things that people always forget about SEO.
          Hardwork. Backlinks. Quality.

All the other things are practically meaningless.
But too many people have feelings that just drive them to
          worry about other things.

i am ranking #1 right now with an *.info and #2 with a *.biz
(com, org, net were all taken). I am confident i might rank #1 with the .biz also..its just a matter of time. Enough said.

the domain EXTENSION doesn't decide how you rank, its what you do with the sites, backlinks and so forth.

I agree,of course it would be better if you have the .com,.net or .org but you can also be good with a .info or .biz depending of the invested work/money
(if you have plans for developing).

        hello,
it doesn't matter a lot if your extension is .com or .biz, the thing that matter most is your content and back-links. I saw many website with good ranking and there extension where like .info, so i personal believe if they can work, any other extension can work, it basically depend upon you only.

  • If you can't find the main TLD's then its good to go with .us as the other left such as .info or .me or .co are not that good.

i prefer .com domains and I just add a word if my keywords are available exactly, like adding online, buy, site, get etc...
