Hi guys,
I have quite a few profile page backlinks and i`m running though them checking if any has been indexed..yes i know how to do this by using site:www.... but many times when i enter the profile page in site: command i just get a list of member profiles how do i check if mine is index for example this is a profile page i added backlinks to..

h t t p : //avidemux.org/ admForum/profile.php?id=5320

my user name is jesse0810

So if i enter the command

site:avidemux.org/admForum/profile.php?id=5320

All i get is pages of member to the site what am i supposed to do ? search though all the members looking of my user name or..... is it just a that i am not indexed because if i was and entered site:avidemux.org/admForum/profile.php?id=5320

I would in fact see my profile ??

Hope this makes sense guys and your advice would be great... Jim

Hi Jim, using the site function isn't the best way of doing this. To see if a page is properly cached you need to use the cache: function. Although, prior to caching it can show in the index using site... But then sometimes when a page is cached you might not be able to find it using site: It's very strange how Google works but it does kind of make sense if you understand the mechanics of it. Trust me.. I have studied this for hours when developing an app.

If you pm me your email address I'll email you an updated version of my app, Index Checker. If you paste in your list of profile page urls it will go through each one and check to see if they are indexed. Just run 50 - 60 urls per hour.

Site:, this command only works for static urls. site:gearlive.com/forums/member/24968/

      For dynamic urls, h t t p : //avidemux.org/ admForum/profile.php?id=5320 it does not work.

To check indexed pages right command is cache:

You can try this free tool, http://www.warriorforum.com/adsense-...link-free.html

I have not tested it fully. It only works for static urls as it uses site: command to check indexed pages.

You had better give andy' s index checker tool a try.

  • Its easy to know about your profile. Better to insert your username of that profile in Google and you will easily find it or better use site operator in Google..
