web site completely gone from SERPS

Its been about 2-3 weeks that my web site isn't ranking for my keyword anymore. It was #1 for a few weeks before that now its completely gone. Its still indexed because I tried the site:domain and its still listing. I did a few backlinks here and there but it has no effect. Any suggestions or should I just drop the niche?

  • Don't worry too much for now. One of my site disappeared from page 1
    for about 20 days and then it came back by itself and it is still ranking on
    page 1 now.

    Just wait a few more days. I know, it sucks when you look at your anayltics
    account and you see 0 visitors instead of the usual 500-2000.
  • Add content and articles
    ping them via pinglar com
    submit artilces to directories(enzine ect) and dig them and many other bookmarks
    press release a article with anchor texts to prbig news so other sites pick it up and link back

    apart from that do some blog commentating, Google sees backlink and content as king these days,
  • I wouldn't worry about it too much. Just focus on writing more articles and keep pinging them (use pingomatic).Also do some more social bookmarking. You should eventually get picked up by the searchengines again.
  • I have one site that did the same and a few days later it was back and ranking higher, then disappeared again. I think it's just the Google dance and it will settle eventually.

    One of my money makers is M.I.A. at the moment and it's making me very cranky.
