Why isnt this plan working?

I have a blog that gets pretty good search engine traffic. I am really picky about the content I post on the blog though & the amount of ads I put up.

I decided to start writing articles and post them on the back end of my blog on a "hidden" subdomain, where my regular readers will not find them.

It's been about a month and everything I have posted is indexed, but I am not getting ANY search engine traffic...

Anyone have any theories on why this WOULDN'T work?

Perhaps you did not use the right keywords?

Keywordspy.com is good to review your own website, and maybe someone's who is similar to yours?

You can then compare results and improve from there.

If you have content indexed and it doesn't get any traffic from the search engines, there's only really 2 possible reasons:

        1) The keyword(s) you're targeting simply don't get any searches.

        2) You're not ranking well enough for any of your keywords, in which case you need some relevant (properly anchored) backlinks to help boost your rankings.

Do you have Statcounter or some analytics installed so you can see what keywords people ARE finding you on? If any?

Have you keyed up a search for your own keywords to see if you show up on the first page?

...My site is currently #5 for our main keywords and we get almost nothing. Compared to almost a hundred a day back when we had the #1 spot.

  • Search for your articles they are either indexed or they are not. Google's Cutts tells people to write for people for a reason. If their bots can't find it then people won't either.
