Pinging and bookmarking Angela profile backlinks

I started building Angela profile backlinks about a month ago and I just looked into Yahoo and none of them show up for my domains. I only see other kinds of backlinks I created.

I haven't done any pinging or bookmarking of them, so it might be the reason.

I'm quite new to this, but my understanding is that I should use a service like PingOMatic to ping all the profile pages I create. Is this the right way to go? Is pingOMatic a good tool for that?

The bookmarking part gets me puzzled a bit more. Do you bookmark to multiple sites? If so, do you use an automation software or site to do it? Any concern about being considered a spammer by the bookmarking sites? Do you have to use proxies and different accounts and spin the content bookmarked? If so, it seems like a heck of a lot of work and tools used for each profile page.

What is the best way to go about this without being banned anywhere and in the least time possible?

Thanks a whole lot in advance!

I always ping, but rarely bookmark. You can use Onlywire (it's free) for submitting to multiple places.

I think a lot of those profiles pages that you place links on are slow to get picked up on sometimes because they are not spidered frequently.

Bookmarking I would guess you're right spread it around a lot! Also use something like RSSBot to ping the profiles.

I just use backlink booster for my profile links. Although in about a month's time only a small percent of the profile links I've created actually show as backlinks. But there were some that appear within a day. Oh, and I'm using different link packets, not necessarily angela's.

Lots of threads on this subject and the bigger question as to whether profile/signature links really work.

I've created around 300+ profile pages on forums and only 9 are showing on Yahoo site explorer, Yahoo only shows a certain % but even being generous maybe just 30/300 have really been indexed.
Of these 300, the last 100 I created RSS feeds of the links in batches of around 20-25 and submitted the RSS feeds to RSS directories and to social bookmarking sites but still nothing. I pinged all 300 but that obviously did nada.

The consensus seems to be that one of BIE (Backlink Index Express) or Backlink Booster are required to really get your public pages indexed.

At the moment I'm feeling a little bit fried with profile links and am focusing on blog commenting and social bookmarking (my actual site). Still, maybe in the next month or so I'll get BIE or BB and give profile links another go.

Don't worry about the Yahoo Site explorer stats as to how many backlinks are indexed, that is not in any way reliable at all to see the absolute amount of backlinks you have, only the relative amount.

So if Site A has 10 backlinks in yahoo and Site B has 30, this doesn't mean that they really have 10 and 30 backlinks respectively, but it usually means that Site B has 3x as many backlinks as Site A.

In any event, backlink value varies dramatically and Site A could have 10 more powerful backlinks than Site B's 30, but you get the point re: the number of links.

Angela and Paula links can still be indexed even if the Yahoo site explorer doesn't say so, remember its Google that we want to index the profiles not Yahoo!

I find that pinging gets plenty of them found, and in my experience if the keyword you are targeting is right then they do definitely work.

Despite this, if you have focused mainly on building links from profiles, diversifying your links to get some from other sources is a great idea for long term rankings.

I also use Angela's, but yes, it take too long for it to show. So coupled with that, i just do forum/blog posting and video/article submissions.

I find that pinging works well to get them indexed, I don't usually bother bookmarking. I don't bother for all the reasons you mentioned! Its usually cheaper and more effective just to make and ping more profiles.

    Hey Fred,

You can just ping them and they can be indexed quicker than usual. These pages are really slowly indexed since they are profile pages to begin with. No need to worry though. Just keep on creating more profiles or doing on other ways of website promotion. Don't rely on Angela's backlinks alone. While it helps, it is always safer to mix up your promotion methods.

    Hope that helps,

You had good points around here.

Before I used to believe the power of Angie's links but now since a lot of people are using it (abusing it), the value gets lower and lower. I prefer getting one way authority links rather than creating profiles for links. It just doesn't seems to work for me.

What I do is just dump the list of urls into an old blogger blog and then ping that. Gets them indexed every time and the blog has never been deleted.
