Anyone here notice lately the changes in Google search? I think Google is updating the Google Search because for 2 weeks now I noticed that my sites rankings in Google is still the same...

Their results page looks a lot different today. I noticed there are now options on the left sidebar for shopping, image, and video results.

This might hurt some MFA websites that cater to products. Users might start to use the shopping option for their results.

Shopping has always been available top of Google for people to use.

Before there was a link for shopping at the top. Now there is 2 links, one at the top and another on the left. And references to 'More shopping sites' and 'less shopping sites'.

For Adsense as long as there is traffic and with good ad placements people will click the links. The only negativity is non shoppers may end up going to shopping sites, i.e. non-targetted traffic.

The interface has changed (where the hell is the "turn off web history/specialized search" button that was very prominent in the old interface), but I don't think that means the actual results have changed the past few days.

I've noticed very strange results in the last few days.
    • Number of results for keywords in "quotes" being MUCH greater than without quotes
    • "site:http://domain.com" having WAY less results than "site:http://domain.com/subdir"

Anyone else? It's frustrating...it's like you can't depend on anything Google says anymore.

Yeah it's so unfair. People innocently gaming the hell out of Google and Google does something about it. Soooooo unfair.....

Sorry, my bad. I just checked out what I read at the time and they just made it opt-out. Personalised search was enabled for people who don't have a Google Account but could turn it off - just like you said.
