Can I install WP blog on home page of XSP-built site?

With XSite Pro as my main website building platform, can I install a WordPress blog on the home page, instead of in a subfolder or subdomain? I know it sounds crazy, but I have a reason... mainly the new XComment Pro, which I feel will do a better job of getting longer, more substantive reader contributions than the normal WP "comment" blog feature... So the idea would be to have the home page be the blog, with links to content static pages, where (hopefully) readers can post contributions... I don't feel blog "comments" are generally very substantial, ie they are usually just that, a short comment. I could have guest bloggers, I know, but with XComment Pro hopefully I could get contributions even from (experts) I'd never known about...
Also, as far as SEO, for a website aimed at a different target audience, but somewhat on the same subject area, better separate website, subdomain or subdirectory (folder)?
