To Subdomain or.. Not

Ok I have a review site I'm setting up. I was wondering what would be the best for seo? I'm looking to get search traffic for each review page.

Option 1:

http://review.com/fitness/how-to-get-abs.htm

Option 2:

http://fitness.review.com/how-to-get-abs.htm

Option 3:

http://how-to-get-abs.review.com


Hope you understand what I'm wanting to know. And I would appreciate any help

  • So subdirectories will be just as good as top level domains?
  • Well in my case if i can afford i go for seperate domains instead of sub-domains.

    If I am going to cover same theme different products, then instead of sub-domains
    i will go for sub-directories structure, as this adds up to the whole domain's power
    and authority.

  • From the point of SEO, Option 3 is the best one obviously.
    Usually, for a sub domain, it can be easier to gain a higher ranking than a directory or a webpage file.
  • Thanks for your feedback! I don't want to buy different domains for each product I'm going to review because I want this to be long term. I am making a lot of money with other methods so I want to make a really long term site.

    So option 3 is the favourite? Because that's what I was thinking also.
