How much do additional backlinks from one domain help?

It's kind of weird talking about this since I'm doing it right now, but a good example for what I mean is how much does forum posting help your website, assuming you have it in your signature?

A more specific question would be how much do additional backlinks help assuming they are from different threads on forum? So obviously every new thread I post on the Warrior Forum will give me another backlink to my site.

There are some services on here which suggest making public profiles without posting on the forum but would there be a much bigger effect, especially if it were a high authority site, to contribute and post for backlinks?

    It does help a lot. One of my friend provides link building through webmaster forums. He Basically register on high pr webmaster forums then make some 10-15 posts related to the topic with our link in the signature . He said his clients see good success with it.

    Regarding High authority sites i would say that u get backlink from each of the thread when you post whereas when u just create a profile u get only 1 backlink and chances are it can be deleted because of spam.

    All the links will be pretty much worthless if they are not thematically linked with the topic of your own site, although they may get you a few more visitors (which is ultimately what it's all about!)

    You would only really get any significant benefit from authority sites from the same niche.

      Is this true? Wouldn't the backlinks help for boosting my page in the SERPs, which is actually my main objective?

      I can understand it would barely do much in terms of having people click the link and go to my site, but what about ranking in Google? If it's still a no, what causes that? Keyword density?
