SEO Training Programs

I'm thinking of registering for SEOMoz with the basic membership, have any of you had a good experience with this program?

And how are they compared to, say, just reading material off of this forum?

Are there any other worthwhile programs? I know about SEOBook but they are now charging $300/month, something I'm not willing to pay for DIY material.
