Buying Traffic For Adsense

Hey.

Why is it against Adsense TOS to buy traffic directed to adsense pages but I constantly get Adwords vouchers from Google asking me to promote my sites using Adwords? Is there a barrier where you can do this as long as you have a certain setup? Thanks.

My understanding is that you can buy traffic to your AdSense sites, but you can't buy AdWords traffic. Doing that is arbitrage, and it was done in the past, but I guess Google banned it for some reason. But if you want to buy traffic from some other source, that can be done.

That is as far as I understand it. Someone may come in here and say I am all wet, and I would go with what they say as I am not really that knowledgeable about it. This is just stuff that I have picked up from reading thie forum.

Stop giving people misinformation. Most traffic that are purchased are very low quality (search engines that majority of people have never heard of), which means they do not convert even if they click on AdSense ads. That means you will get lots of clicks on AdSense, but the advertisers will not see benefits from that because they are not making sales. That makes advertisers unhappy, and will frustrate Google because they are very serious about giving their advertisers the best conversions possible.

"Misinformation"??? You didn't dispute anything I said. The OP asked if you could purchase traffic to his AdSense sites, NOT ANYTHING ABOUT IT CONVERTING.

Please try to pay attention to the question the OP raises, and not go off on a tangent.

"But if you want to buy traffic from some other source, that can be done." - No. Let's say you buy traffic from 7Search.com, which is a very crappy search engine. Let's say you get 100 people coming from there, and 100 people click on your AdSense ads. Probably 0 out of 100 would buy something.

So if OP wants AdSense banned soon, just continue to listen to this person.

I am wondering if I am in violation now. Basically, a started a site a few years back about sourcing products from Italy. The whole thing turned out to be more bother than it was worth so I put prominent adsense ads on it (which drove away most inquiries about the service by the way) and make some from the site that way.

Anyway, I keep a little very cheap Adwords content advertising going to the site because I get a few clicks a day that only cost me a penny each and the Adsense clicks I get in return are worth much more.

Am I in violation even if it is serious site that happens to have Adsense on it??

You can't say for sure that those people would click through the ads, and then none of them would convert. That is very presumptuous of you.

And if the OP wanted to know if buying traffic would be a good idea, I think they are smart enough to ask that question. That was not the question asked though.

By the way, I never recommended the buying of traffic. I also said that I was no expert on this, and hopefully someone knowledgable would come along. Unfortunately it seems that I was the only one to address the question asked. If you know so much, then why don't you address the question THAT WAS ASKED? The TOS clearly state where you can and can not buy traffic from. It is a little convoluted, but not really hard to understand. I have not read it in a long time, and can't remember for sure what it said. But, you can buy traffic, just not from AdWords.
