Simple Backlink Url Question

I have a simple question about backlinks to a site. Does it matter what the url is in the link, for example, these will all take you to my site, http://www.example.com, http://example.com, http://example.com/index.html, and http://www.example.com/index.html

Does it matter what url is actually tied to a text link, or do they all do the same thing?

  • Use whatever shows when you are on the actual page on your site. just cut and past. Also, you should be using anchor text and when you use the html code or BBCode it is essential you have the http:// in the code.
  • If you are talking about the text you want the readers to see, then no it doesn't matter as long as the target URL is your website.

    • No, I'm not talking about the text I want the readers to see, I'm talking about the actual url that is link to an anchor text link, does it matter which one I use?
