Higher Conversion With Content Network?

I'm running an AdWords campaign to promote one of my own products and I'm getting a higher conversion (opt in) from the content network than I am with search. Like 33% to 17%.

Anybody else experience this?

How come everybody rips on the content network?

Are you targetting specific sites or pages?
Is your niche Real Estate investing? Could be a factor?
Are you running the same ads?

  I am targeting specific sites, my niche is real estate investing and I am using the same ads.
  
  Maybe the secret is in targeting only certain sites or choosing your own placements in the content network?

Try banners too they will generally get a much higher CTR
