Does Google punish spamming links? -- Yes

I have an one-month website and I promoted it to No.2 on the main keyword. Last weekends, I did a comment blast linking to the site. And next day, it is missing in google search. By now, one week has passed. It has not been back. So the myth "backlinks always have link juice to sites" is broken. Big G changes its rule pretty quickly.

Stop spewing your ignorance everywhere. This is the second thread tonight, just in this section.

You're clueless on what you're speaking about, and could be leading a lot of people down the wrong path.

For starters, your site is one month old. Google hasn't decided what to do with it yet, as it is still a baby.

How many backlinks were you getting per day before this "blast"?

How many sites were included in this "blast"?

More than likely, you were getting minimal backlinks per day, and then all a sudden one day you received several hundred all with the same anchor text. Tripped the Google spam switch, or since your site is so new, you're being intro'd to the Google dance.

I'm watching. Thank you for the discript explaination. In short, it doesn't pay to do the xrummer thing, unless you can be cool about it (if there is such a thing)

What utter nonsense. When Google first finds a site, it gives most an artificial boost in the rankings. After a period of time, the site settles back into its natural rankings. This would easily explain what happen to your site - nothing to do with the backlinks! This happens all the time - just check the google webmaster help forum --- every day someone comes along and asks about this.

LOL your site was going to get sandboxed anyway regardless of having how many links to your site. Your site is brand new... even if it is 6 months old, it would STILL be brand new.

How about I spam links to CNN dot com, Facebook, or Google's own homepage roflmao.

They really should change this to the adsense/daily laughs/seo rumors/google myths and anecdotal theories forum...

Your website was sandboxed, you were never on the first page. You though you were but it was an illusion. If you build it, then you earned it. If you didn't and it happens by chance just wait, it will catch up to you.

Also, if I get you correctly a comment blast is spamming. This can even cause blacklisting or de-indexing all together.

      Is it?

So, I just need to put a scrip checking NEW domain names related to my niche sites + send a backlink blast to get these new sites blacklisted or de-indexed all together?

Cool! How come no one ever thought of that?

How many spam links do I need to use against my enemies in position 1-3 to get them .... "punished".

    Think 10,000 will do it?

No, it just means that you can't spew useless content all over the internet. IMHO links is, always has been and always will be the most reliable metric to determine relevancy for any particular search term. Search Engines will NEVER stop using them as a measuring stick.

and you've tested and confirmed this?

others will say that they spam-out thousands of links a day with no negative effects.

wait... I've spammed-out thousands of links a day and not seen any negative effects... and I'm talkin' down n' dirty scrapbox spam-o-polooza on thousands of innocent blogs.

My sites aren't blacklisted. Have I had some funky sandbox like effects and extreme google dancing, sure... but they all eventually bounce back stronger than ever.

      Amen brother.

I am getting tired of offering domains for them to *blacklist* and so far no one accepted the offer.

If you actually think this is true, why don't you just send tons of spammy links to every single one of your competitors' sites? You will be #1 in no time.

You're wrong. Google is not stupid. They only punish new site with lots of links in one day especially the links are in low quality.

But what if its over a 27 hr span and not 24 - will there be punishment - or just less severe?

Whats the low quality to high quality link ratio one needs in order to not get this dreaded punishment?

Folks, we have the magic formula here. No more than 150 per day....and don't spam everyday! Make it every other day...hahaha that is hilarious. How can you even say that in the same paragraph? Don't spam everyday? It's ok to do it once in awhile?

Look, if you're gonna spam backlinks, just do it. There's no looking natural to it. You skip a day and now it looks natural?

I don't know where you guys live, but where I live you can spam backlinks on even days if your street address is an even number and odd days if your street address is an odd number. Maybe the OP spammed on the wrong day.
