Hi

I have a site(see signature) progressing very nicely for the last 2-3 months.

That said adsense CTR is pathetic,to say the least

Heading towards 1000 UNIQUES this month and growing

I'd appreciate any help anyone could give me to give this site its true potential

PR2 alexa rank approx 4.5 million (also increasing dramatically).

Aproximately 250 backlinks(fluctuating)

Regards

Ken

You can make money through blogging, you just need to work it right. Good content, the right products, correct ad placement, ... It all adds up for success.

There's a difference between a profitable blog and a blog going nowhere.

Looking at yours it's not going very far.

In other words the whole point of blogging is to create high traffic blogs not blogs with bugger all going for them.

I bet you visit blogs every day that are high traffic and proftiable too and don't even realize that yours doesn't even compete.

      I'm sorry but I disagree

Well, yeah it works, but it is not a overnight get rich scheme. Go to becomeablogger.com and buy a course, that will teach you doing just that. (no, i'm not promoting anything here)

It is imperative ( a must) that you find out what ticks your prospect's whistle. In other words your blog must be about what people want. Get into targeting key words. When you go fishing, don't try to catch whales with wooden nickels. This is where tracking and analysis comes in.

    1. You shouldn't have used the default permalinks.

    2. You left in the default blogroll.

    3. You didn't change the tagline, it still says "Just another WordPress weblog"

    4. Replace the WordPress search with Google Adsense search

    5. Get rid of the footer adsense ad, it's useless.

    6. The sidebar automoney ad is very attention getting and will distract (or annoy) visitors. If you're getting good clicks and conversions on it, get rid of Adsense entirely and promote this offer exclusively for a while or do a rotation of other similar forex products. If it's not converting, get rid of it.

    7. Make your Adsense stand out from the rest of the page better by using different colors and such. You'll need to experiment with this.

    8. You're only building links to your index page and not to article pages. Start building links to your posts, at least by bookmarking them when you first post them.

Yes, you can make money with blogging. But the real question here is can you get enough visitors to make money online?.

I have been asked this question so many times in the past few weeks that I thought I should write something on the topic. It seems increasingly bloggers want to try to cover their hosting and ISP costs with some revenue from their blog – and increasingly they’re doing it and are able to make a few (or quite a lot) dollars on the side. Many are turning to Google’s Adsense program.

Yes, you can make money with blogging. The question is if you do not invest the time, effort or money for SEO will you get the traffic or quality that will bring money in.
