Commission Junction...how bad is it?

Okay so, I value the opinions of people on this site when it comes to affiliate marketing, mainly because I suck at it but anyway...

I'm targeting a specific niche and a couple of the companies I want to deal with only do their affiliate work with Commission Junction. I've seen a lot of complaints about CJ on here but is it enough for me to not even pursue these companies?

Thanks.

Not sure why or where you have heard these complaint but I actually like CJ and have a nice little thing going with them if you know what I mean.

Aside from CB, adsense, and other miscellaneous affiliate accounts a large chunk of my income comes from there so I can't say anything negative about them.

I guess some of the complaints I've seen is people claiming to not get credit for sales but if that was the norm and not the exception, they'd be out of business pretty quick.

    Thanks for the reply.

Commission Junction is my main source for links.

I've had no problems, and no complaints.

See my profile I have a pic of my first check from them.

Great customer service, they answer their phones and are very happy to help.

You can also contact the advertisers directly through CJ.

The ONLY downside in my opinion is that some advertisers must approve your request to promote their products. Meaning you have to have a decent website to get approved for some.

No approval process or anything like that for CJ itself though.

Home Depot is an advertiser on CJ. That right there says they're a quality service.

    Thanks friend.

I did sign up. One of the companies I wanted had auto-approve and two did not. So I'm waiting on them.

But I did just spend the last three hours making my site from scratch, making an adwords campaign, and designing the logo and so I am ready to go just as soon the domain is ready.

Most of the complaints revolve around that CJ will terminate your account if you do not produce a single sale within a 6 month period. Therefore, it could be a waste of time for inexperienced affiliates to sign up to CJ rightaway.

i would recommend Shareasale. Once you start getting sales from it, you would not have any problems with CJ.

CJ has worked just fine for me.

They are a very reputable service with many brand name products and services under their hat.
