I hear before doing seo it's a good idea to test with PPC.how you do that in a fast way and how much do you spend to know if it's a winner or loser?

I would spend $100. for me that will be enough to say if it is profitable or not. although it depends on the product. but generally thats the numbers I would use

I would suggest doing keyword research before either SEO or PPC. If you do your homework you should do fine.

  • Its really depends on your niche and what you have for both landing pages and test offers...

PPC is great but you really need to nail down the specific area's you want to target and keep very detailed tracking records for each keyword.

PPC data will help you nail down negative keywords which can be put into a "third-tier" of priority when it comes to ongoing organic optimization content creation schedules..

Also remember different keywords / offers as combination work differently with the PPC engines your targeting as the market is often different.

Google = a certain type of traffic
MSN / Bing = a differnt type of traffic
    Facebook = etc,
    Etc, Etc, Etc,

Dont put all your "eggs" in one basket...

The other quick suggestion I would give you is find the top 20 keyword ranking competitors for your niche and punch their data into the following services:

Please note: None of the data is completely accurate, but it can give you a generalized idea

    - Quantcast
    - Compete
    - Spyfu
    - SemRush

If your pretty serious I would have to say some of the best data is from Hitwise, but it's expensive...

Yes, make sure you do your homework to discover the correct longer-tail, or converting keywords prior to doing your SEO or PPC! Don't target the obvious keywords...they are too competitive!

I think you may have heard this because some people feel that they should test whether a product sells before they spend too much cash on SEO.

PPC is a great way to determine whether or not a product will sell due to the great control and immediate results Adwords and the like offer. As mentioned above, make sure you get a few hundred clicks before you make up your mind.

If you want to use PPC for keyword analysis then I think that there are other tools that could get you the results your looking for.

my opinion is to start off by doing SEO.. It is a better way to get your site promoted.. You can go with PPC afterwards if your site has not done much development..
